Visit to Glass Temple, Malaysia (12/05/2013)

Hmmm, This post is long due. So here comes a nice visit to Glass Temple!

As we are in Woodlands and it's just few minutes away from the Glass Temple, So we are just few minutes away from Malaysia! On a nice Sunday, we managed to make a visit to the world amazing first Hindu glass temple. When I heard the news of glass temple, my visualization was mirror. But once i entered the temple, i never thought that it will be so beautiful with wonderful colors. The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is a major Hindu temple as well as one of the oldest temples in Tebrau, Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Read more about the temple here.

We took the bus to Malaysia Kotaraja terminal from Woodlands bus interchange. Then we had to go through Singapore and Malaysia Immigration. So we are done with the visa procedure. :)

So we took a taxi to Glass Temple just after we got out from the Malaysia immigration. The fare was just 4RM. Actually we could have walked to the temple. It was just a walking distance. Outside of the temple would make you a bad impression about the temple. Because it's not cleaned or maintained well. But when you go to the front side and reach the entrance of the temple it's better. When you step-in to the temple, I'm sure you'll say 'WOW'. Yeah it's just amazing with little pieces of mirrors in different colors. I am truly glad to share some pictures I have snapped.

Wherever you look, it's just glittering everywhere.

The first picture is at the entrance to the main goddess. Others are statues of gods.

There are 10 white marble statues. The Guru believes that these are messengers of God, and visitors of other faiths will be happy to see them here.

These sculptures portray the cycle of life

These paintings are there to convey a universal message of social and racial harmony. In left picture, A cow is next to an Indian girl, a dog is near a Chinese girl while a Malay girl holds a cat in her arms. The other picture has an Hindu motorcyclist being helped up by a Muslim after he fell off his bike, while a Buddhist is picking up his helmet and a Christian is lifting up the motorcycle.

So, it was really a nice experience. I would say, it's one of the must-visit places whoever like to visit interesting places. I'm adding some of other pictures of this beautiful temple.
